Dachigam National Park is a protected area located just 22 kilometers from Srinagar. The park covers an area of 141 square kilometers and ranges in altitude from 1,700 to 4,300 meters. The name 'Dachigam' means 'ten villages', referring to the ten villages that were relocated to create the park during the early 20th century.

The park is best known as the habitat of the Hangul, or Kashmir stag, which is the state animal of Jammu and Kashmir and an endangered species. Dachigam is one of the last refuges for this magnificent animal. The park is also home to other wildlife including Himalayan black bear, leopard, musk deer, and numerous bird species.

The Martand Sun Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Surya, the Sun God, located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
